Puncture Repair

Mr Tyreman UK is proud to offer a mobile tyre puncture repair service.

We can visit your home or workplace and repair your puncture or replace your tyre quickly and efficiently.

It is common practice for our fitting service to bring a replacement tyre with us so that if your tyre cannot be repaired, we can fit and balance a new tyre at the same time. This will get you back on the road as soon as possible.

Each repair booked is subject to the purchase of a replacement tyre. This is to ensure that if a repair is not possible a replacement tyre can be provided during the same visit. If a new tyre is required, the puncture charge will be waived since a new tyre will be fitted instead. If a new tyre is not needed, the charges will be incurred to cover the cost of the puncture repair but no further payment will be required due to the new tyre not being fitted. For clarification on these terms please don’t hesitate to contact us.

All puncture repairs carried out are in compliance with the BS AU 159 (British standard guidelines)

How Do I Know If My Tyre Is Repairable?

  1. Nail Size and Location:

    • If the nail is less than 6mm in diameter and located in the center of the repairable area (the tread area), the tyre is generally considered repairable.
  2. Cracks in the Tread or Sidewall:

    • If the tyre has cracks in between the tread, it is not repairable due to compromised structural integrity.
    • Smell of the tyre burning is a sign of the inside of the sidewall damaged.
    • If you have driven on the tyre while it was flat, it is not repairable. Driving on a flat tyre can cause significant internal damage that may not be visible, compromising the tyre’s safety and performance. Therefore, such tyres should be replaced rather than repaired.
  3. Run-Flat Tyres:

    • Run-flat tyres are not repairable. Based on the unique construction of run-flat tyres, which may conceal internal damage even after a puncture is repaired. Therefore, for safety reasons, these tyres are not repairable following BS AU 159 (British standard guidelines).

This policy ensures that all tyre repairs maintain high safety standards, reducing the risk of tyre failure after a repair.
